OCR is responsible to the Government as one of the UK’s leading awarding bodies providing qualifications to students at school, college and work or through part-time learning programmes.
OCR recognizes the achievement of those people who know that qualifications can enhance their life, whether they are young people taking their GCSEs or older people returning to learning after many years absence.
Examinations :
1. New CLAIT
Can be taken in bite-size pieces with an independent certificate for each unit or as a group of units.
Students can take all eleven units if they wish, however, candidates must complete a minimum of five out of the eleven units including one mandatory unit.
2. CLAIT Plus
Can be taken in bite-size pieces with an independent certificate for each unit or as a group of units.
Students can take all thirteen units if they wish, however, candidates must pass a minimum of four out of the thirteen units to be awarded their certificate including the mandatory unit.
3. CLAIT Advanced
Can be taken in bite-size pieces with an independent certificate for each unit or as a group of units.
Students can take all eleven units if they wish, however, candidates must pass a minimum of four out of the eleven units to be awarded their certificate including the mandatory units 1, 2 and 3 and one optional unit.
All optional units are equally weighted. There are no requirement for candidates to work towards the units in any particular order and teachers/trainers may tailor learning programmes to meet individual needs.
Progression Route :
Candidates who successfully complete CLAIT Advanced will be able to progress sideways to other units within CLAIT Advanced, the OCR Level 3 NVQ in Using IT, the OCR Level 3 NVQ in using IT for Teleworking or to industry specific practitioner qualifications. Candidates may also progress to the OCR Level 4 in NVQ Managing IT Systems.
