Entry Requirements:

The OTHM Introductory Certificate is an Open Access qualification. This means that students do not require any formal qualifications to take this course. All the individuals who wish to commence or have commenced work in the tourism and hospitality industry + English language competency of IELTS 6.0 are eligible to take the course.

NB If concurrent English language tuition is offered it is recommended that students have IELTS 5.0 at the beginning of the course and IELTS 6.0 by the completion of the course.

Course Duration : One year

Training centres will assist students in choosing and defining their topics for the project.

• Titles are set by OTHM
• Administered and double-marked by delivery centre [internal moderation]
• External moderation by OTHM

Only after completion and submission of the project will candidates be allowed to take the on-line examination.

Course Assessment:

Training centres will not advise candidates of the marks that they have awarded for the project since these marks may be moderated or changed by OTHM. Candidates will receive a Results Sheet from OTHM via the training centre informing them of the marks they gained on the project and on-line examination. If the candidate is required to resit the examination or resubmit the project, they will be advised of this on the Results Sheet.

On passing the OTHM Introductory Certificate Members will be eligible to be considered for OTHM Certificate course.
