The experience of a lifetime.
London is one of the biggest, most bustling, diverse, and exciting cities on the planet. It is an incredible place to live. In London you will find everything you can imagine. There are back-street boutiques selling retro clothes, a pounding electronic music scene, iconic landmarks recognisable the world over, hundreds of thousands of restaurants, clubs and bars, bohemian districts, tattoo parlours and art galleries, street markets selling everything (EVERYTHING!) at knock-down prices, burlesque and comedy clubs, cinemas, circuses, theatres, opera houses, everything. You will spend months exploring and barely scratch its surface.
But it's no secret that London is an expensive place to study. It is possible though to live very cheaply if you know what you're doing. Scott's College London and its students have had over ten years to find the most affordable apartments, the best underground bars and the most exciting clubs that offer great value across London. Our Student Support Service are always available to offer advice, and students who are already at the college are a great source of tips. Here's one: Samuel Smith's Bars sell pints of beer for 2 pounds. The London average is 3.50! There are loads of hidden gems like this waiting for you to discover them.
Each week you should budget around 30GBP for food. If you plan on eating in restaurants this will rise to around 60GBP per week. But of course there are cheap restaurants, so if you discover them you're costs are going to go down
So far we're assuming you're not going to be doing any clubbing, which is ridiculous! Our students have always enjoyed a party. If you factor in money spent on going out clubbing, you'll be looking at a budget of around 1000GBP per month.
