IMIS

IMIS is an accrediting body. We run our own Examination Syllabus leading towards the IMIS qualification, which is recognised and respected in the field of information systems management around the world. There are currently 12,000 students and accredited members in over 50 countries.

The IMIS qualification is structured to provide recognition for all levels of achievement. Combined with the IMIS Syllabus and Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programme, it is designed to support information systems professionals throughout their careers

Progression Route:

This leads to IMIS Practitioner Grade. It was introduced to provide a route for candidates to gain entry to our Diploma Course examination. This course is also suitable for young people who want to work with computers and need some entry level education. All modules defined within the course structure may be taken individually or collectively to form a Foundation Diploma. Each module is designed to introduce the student to the basic elements of information systems practices.

Diploma

Entry requirements

  • Successful completion of the Foundation Diploma level examinations.
  • GCSE (or equivalent) with passes in 4 subjects, including Mathematics and English at grades C and above (or equivalent).
  • Candidates of 21 years of age and over with two yearsÕ work experience relevant to computing or a related field will also be eligible. An employer reference will be required.
  • Candidates of 19 years of age and over may be admitted on receipt of a letter, from the college where the student is registered to study for IMIS qualifications, attesting to their suitability to study at this level.

Progression Route:

This leads to IMIS Licentiate Grade. It continues on from the Foundation Diploma level although access at this level is also available to candidates who comply with the entrance requirements. Completion of these examinations awards a Diploma Certificate and the general standard equates to the National (ONC) Certificate. Candidates having completed the Diploma Course are working at the equivalent level of early entry analysts.

Higher Diploma

Entry requirements

  • Successful completion of the Diploma level examinations.
  • BTEC National Certificate/Diploma in Computing.
  • BTEC National Certificate/Diploma in a related subject with a significant computing element.
  • GCSE (or equivalent) with passes in 5 subjects including Mathematics and English. ÔAÕ Level in a computing subject and one other ÔAÕ Level. Two passes at ÔASÕ level may be considered in place of one ÔAÕ level pass.
  • Other appropriate educational qualifications deemed equivalent to the IMIS Diploma level examinations.
  • Candidates that are 21 years of age or over with four yearsÕ appropriate work experience relevant to computing or a related field may also be considered

Progression Route:

This leads to IMIS Associate Grade. It extends and complements the Diploma Course to give students a comprehensive knowledge of the entire field of operations, programming, systems analysis and design, and computer management. A Higher Diploma award equates to the Higher National Certificate/Diploma (HNC/HND) and prepares candidates for work at the equivalent level of analyst/team leader.
